End of Imperium; Maker of Fate Book 0 is book preview by Delilah Bluette. This is not a full book, but a preview of the series. The book is 55 pages, however the actual excerpt is about 40 pages.
The excerpt shows the relationship between some long lived beings that were part of the Alluran Imperium, a fallen race that, from appearances, will try to rebuild.
The story is about a pair, Haka, an Alluran immortal Oracle and Marcus, her long time companion which are running from a “God”, Chukwu. They must find a way to move between alternate realities in order to escape. During this time, we learn many things about the Alluran people and their capabilities.
The story is well written and keeps you on the edge as to what it going to happen next. As it is only a preview, we’ll have to read the full book in order to find out what happens to the pair once they are in a safer reality.
Overall, I enjoyed the preview, however, I’m not really a fan of paying for a preview that is not much longer than what can be viewed in the “Look Inside” functionality of a full book. Since the preview never states which actual book this is a preview for, I don’t even know which book to purchase in order to continue reading. I would like it better if the author would state that this is a preview, rather than just depending on calling it Book 0 to let people know. I thought that possibly it was a follow up to a story, like a prequel.
