The Displaced Collection by Stephen Drake

A book review by Elliot Jackman

I admittedly was a little put off by the protagonist, Kevin Murdock, at the beginning of the first book. I kept reading and eventually enjoyed the story and the characters. I read all three books and sincerely wanted to know what happened to everyone. Considering the premise that the people selected for settling on a new planet were chosen because they overthink, don’t listen, and don’t follow instructions, it’s not too hard to imagine that things might turn out the way they do. It was still hard to imagine that nobody after years and years would start to get organized enough to create a real town of some sort.

I think you’ll enjoy the story of what might happen if colony ships are sent with individually selected societal misfits as the entire crew.
