Junkyard by Lindsay Buroker

A book review by Elliot Jackman

This is a story about a theft that happened from a warehouse on a remote planet. There is a missing quantity of maple syrup from a warehouse that produces this nectar from a seed of trees from Earth.

The detective, McCall Richter in the case, who usually doesn’t do this type of work is accompanied by an android named “Scipio”. They eventually find that this is a typical theft but only after some tribulation.

They work through the theft and eventually discover the method and actors in the crime.

I felt this is one of those stories that could easily be placed in a warehouse on Earth and, except for the Android, had no redeeming value as a SciFi novel.

The story was an easy read and amusing for what it was.
