In looking back at the previous posts, I can’t believe that it’s been 2 1/2 years since I had the Developmental Editing done on the book. The original book was sent to the editor as 87,000 words. After reviewing the suggestions and doing some serious consideration of what the story needed, I wound up deleting most of the first chapters and starting over.
The next several chapters were heavily re-written. Most of the chapters after that were not heavily modified, but they were enhanced with more internal dialog etc. There was also a new chapter added at the end of the book.
During this time, I decided to produce a website that I’ve been wanting to do for many years. Taking on that project at the same time as writing the book had the overall effect of slowing both projects down to a crawl.
Well, the crawl is over. I had the final draft of the book line edited. It took over a month to process the returned manuscript!
The final version sits at almost 103,000 words… and it’s ready to go. I’ve been working on the book cover for the past several weeks with Peter Amato. I think we’re getting close to a final version.
